2016 Pop-Up Restaurant
In 2016 we were very lucky to have a pop up restaurant at the Food Fair hosted by one of Britain’s most distinguished chefs, Phil Howard.
Philip Howard is undoubtedly one of Britain’s finest chefs. Having worked with Marco Pierre White (Harvey’s) and Simon Hopkinson (Bibendum) he set up his own restaurant The Square and held 2 Michelin stars for 19 years.
This year he has left The Square and in late September will open Elystan Street, one of the most anticipated new restaurant openings of 2016.
Barnes Pop-Up Menu
Carpaccio of sea bass with red pepper, fennel juice, coriander seed and orange
Artichoke heart with six grain salad, toasted seeds, pickled celeriac and herbs
Roast cod with lightly curried cauliflower puree, golden raisins, coriander and lime
Elystan Street Caesar salad with chicken and a yeast cream
Compote of plums with almond milk and vanilla rice pudding
The Barnes Green Centre
The Barnes Green Centre is used as the local Age UK centre for the senior population of Barnes during the week, and as a party venue in the evening and weekends. It’s a beautiful old Victorian school building but miles away from the sleek glamour of Phil’s soon to be launched restaurant Elystan Place.
